Contemporary spanking art
First, there are new media and art styles such as:
- motion picture (film)
- comic and cartoon (and their Japanese equivalents, manga and anime)
Second, the computer era since the mid-1980s gave rise to further new developments such as computer graphics, digital image editors and rendered spanking art. The Internet allowed spanking art fans and artists globally to publish and share their works, knowledge and feedback, using e-mail, newsgroups, websites, web groups, web forums, mailing lists, oekakis, blogs, imageboards and wikis.
These technical advancements had a significant impact on the community: they made artistic expression and exchange much easier. A high volume of contemporary spanking art is produced by hobby (fan) artists rather than professional artists.
