An exercise ball, also known as a Swiss ball, balance ball, birth ball, body ball, fitness ball, gym ball, gymnastic ball, physioball, pilates ball, Pezzi ball, sports ball, stability ball, Swedish ball, therapy ball, or yoga ball, is a ball constructed of soft elastic with a diameter of approximately 35 to 85 centimetres (14 to 33″) and filled with air. It is most often used in physical therapy, athletic training, exercise, and for weight training.
A toy variant has one or two handles. The child (or adult) can sit on the ball, holding onto it, and hop around. It is known as "space hopper" in the UK, "hopping ball", "hoppity hop", "hippity hop", and "sit n bounce".
There are also oval exercise balls in various shapes.
Couples can use exercise balls creatively in a variety of sex positions.
Exercise balls can also be used to support the body of a spankee in a bent-over-object position. Depending on the size of the ball and the spankee, this can take the form of a supported lunge position, a supported on-all-fours position, or a supported spreadeagle position. The ball provides a comfortable support for a jackknife position, but might be unstable to balance on. It is possible to combine lying over the ball with bondage, for example for a bottom-elevated staked-out position.
Exercise ball chairsEdit
There are also pieces of furniture that combine a chair or stool with an exercise ball. These are probably better suitable for spanking than a plain ball as they are more stable. For example the Topstar Sitness 5 or Topstar Sitness 6 look like they might do a good job.
A related fitness training device is the BOSU Ball, which looks like half of an exercise ball mounted on a rigid board. It too might be suitable as a pervertible for spanking, as a dome-shaped varaint to a pillow, bolster or rolled-up blanket.
